Don't Let Your Bullying Policy Sit on the Shelf

Hi, this is Michael from Children's Humanitarian Services. We have been working on a new project named Communities Against Bullying. The goal, as with all our programs, is to bring awareness to issues that affect children. Bullying affects more than just children as we know, bullies can be young, old(er), male and female. We are all affected either as the observer of bullying, the one being bullied, or the one doing the bullying.
There is a lot about bullying that I would like to share, I have been reading policies that have been written for schools to tailor to fit their visions. I was extremely impressed with one and the link I will post below. A few points I would like to mention are that it takes everyone in a community to provide input, support, and conversation and to not let the messages go silent.
Just like a plan, you don't want it to sit on a shelf and not be used. That does not do anyone any good. So, as I wrap this post up, it doesn't matter if it is a multi-page policy or a one-line pledge taken in a household to not be a bully and to say that it is not okay to bully, keep it off the shelf, update it, share it, and talk about it often.
Until next time stay safe
